Sher Bagh
Sher Bagh is a Jungle Lodge situated at the edge of the Ranthambhore National
Park in Rajasthan. It's set amidst trees on a private estate, overlooking a
valley and along its northern periphery. It is a ten minute drive from themain
entrance of the reserve.
The drive to the resort, which is located a little beyond the turn off to the
park entrance, isa bit of an adventure in itself but once you're there you'll
definitely feel it's worth the effort and probably find that it adds to the
required atmosphere.
Tents that seem out of an exotic movie with treasure chests and antique marvels. The
beds are actually specially designed to give your body the perfect support
and relax you almost instantly. The resort has a reading section with a sizable
collection of books on wildlife.
Accommodation
The camp consists of 12 luxurious bedroom tents with attached verandahs and
bathrooms, a dining tent, a cafe and lots of verdant spaces in which to loll!
Originally designed for The Maharaja of Jodhpur at the turn of last century.
These tents were used on hunting expeditions. They also catered for an overflow
of guests at the palace and even for Vice Regal and Royal visits. Tented cities
used to spring up and provide extreme comfort even in the remotest of locations.
